Dr. Shehram Moghul is a Consultant Psychiatrist and founder of Moghul Medical, which he established in 2013. He works in private practice full-time and offers clinics in Southampton, Winchester, Chandlers Ford and Bournemouth. He specialises in memory problems, dementia such as Alzheimer’s disease, and a broad range of psychiatric conditions in adults.
Dr. Moghul trained as a doctor at Southampton Medical School and was appointed as an NHS Consultant Psychiatrist in 2003. He spent more than 20 years in the health service.
Alongside his clinical work he has held several national roles. He has served on the board of examiners at the Royal College of Psychiatrists and has examined for the General Medical Council. In 2008 he was appointed as a Medical Member of the Tribunal Service for the Ministry of Justice. He also spent a number of years as a lecturer at Southampton University Medical School, teaching memory problems and dementia and has published research in peer-reviewed journals, mainly in the field of Alzheimer’s disease.
Dr. Moghul has a particular interest in psychiatric problems in later life, including memory problems, dementia and difficulties around retirement. He also has extensive experience in assessing decision-making capacity, and for more than two decades has provided reports on capacity to make a will and to set up a Lasting Power of Attorney. He also provides treatment for common mental health problems such as depression, anxiety, OCD, bipolar disorder, and PTSD.
